      • WHAT WE DO

Partnership for the Advancement of Refugee Rights (PARR) is a student-led organization at the University of Chicago, which strives to raise awareness of the issues refugees face in the United States and globally, work with refugee families in the greater Chicago area, and advocate for political change both nationally and globally. We specifically hope to build a longstanding tradition of constructive engagement with the Chicago refugee community through student advocacy and resistance.

        Student Organizing

PARR's membership is primarily composed of University of Chicago undergraduate students. We are currently expanding our membership to include both grad students and Hyde Park community members!

        Chicago Focus

Our organization is based in the Hyde Park neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. We have a local focus but maintain our international reach. This means that we fundraise year-round for local refugee centered organizations and quarterly fundraise for international refugee initiatives.
